House passes bill to
bar tax-delinquent contractors
The House on April 15
unanimously passed a bill that bars companies with seriously delinquent federal
tax debts from obtaining new federal contracts. Reps. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah)
and Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) co-sponsored the bipartisan bill, the Contracting
and Tax Accountability Act (H.R. 822), which now goes to the Senate.
