We look forward to seeing you on August 1 and 2 at the 6th Annual Volk Field Small Business Conference!

The three most important things when it comes to Selling to the Government -
  1. Technical knowledge - you need to understand how it works and what the rules are
  2. Market knowledge - you need to know your competitiors and opportunities
  3. Access - you need to locate and find the right people and the right entry point
You don't have to be a BIG company to sell to the Government, but you do have to be willing to LEARN and to SELL.
A small manufacturer from central Wisconsin attended the event last year and showed his product.  From that humble start, he is now supplying the US Navy and is in the process of integrating his product into the Federal General Services Administration (GSA) market.

Join us at Volk Field (located in Central Wisconsin just 1 1/2 hours northwest of Madison on I94) for learning, networking, marketing and selling.

If you have any questions regarding the event visit http://www.wispro.org/eventdetail.asp?ID=455 or contact Joseph Smetak at 414-270-3600 or josephs@wispro.org

System for Award Management - SAM

At the end of July 2012, the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) system is going away.

CCR, along with Federal Agency Registration (FedReg), the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA), and the Excluded Parties List System (EPLS), will be migrated into the new System for Award Management, or SAM.

For those of you familiar with this effort, you know it will reduce the number of passwords you need to remember, reduce the number of systems you need to enter and interact with, and reduce data redundancy by sharing the data across the award lifecycle. To help you better understand how this will work, SAM training will be available online in early May. Please visit
SAM.gov for more information.
