Supporting the Federal and Defense Supply Chain

On March 12 – 13, 2013 current Federal manufacturers from Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula will be meeting in Green Bay, WI for the Government Manufacturing Conference - Supporting the Federal and Defense Supply Chains.   Current contractors as well as those firms considering the Federal market will have the opportunity to learn how to sell to the Federal government and understand the actual requirements – from locating the opportunity to bidding to meeting the requirements of the Federal customer.

There are significant opportunities for manufacturers directly with the Federal Government and as part of the Federal Supply Chain.  Last year the Federal government purchased almost $200 billion dollars in manufactured goods.  Of these dollars:
·         NAVY - $55 billion
·         AIR FORCE - $40 billion
·         ARMY – $39 billion
·         Defense Logistics Agency - $30 billion

Earlier this month, Marinette Marine received an order for two more Navy ships for $696 million.
